For fishing and hunting licenses, the gift buyer must go to an Idaho Department of Fish and Game regional office to buy a gift certificate, which can later be redeemed.

Adult residents age 18 and over must show proof of residency to redeem the gift certificate. They they can only be redeemed at Fish and Game regional offices, not at license and tag vendors.

There are several license options, too. A resident hunting license costs $12.75, a fishing license, $25.75 and a combination license costs $33.50.

Seasonal licenses cost
from $7.25 for junior hunting to $124.25 for the Sportsman’s Package.

The Sportsman’s Package includes hunting and fishing licenses; tags for deer, elk, bear, mountain lion, gray wolf, turkey, salmon and steelhead; and archery and muzzleloader permits.

Lifetime licenses range from $276.75 to $1,113, depending on the recipient’s age.

Consider buying your hunter an entry for Super Hunt drawings for individual deer, elk, antelope or moose hunts, or Super Hunt Combos for deer, elk, antelope and moose.

You can buy Super Hunt tickets at any license vendor. Super Hunt entries are $6 for the first one and $4 for each additional entry purchased at the same time.

Super Hunt Combo tickets cost $20 for the first one, and $16 for each additional entry bought at the same time.

The money raised from the sale of Super Hunt tickets funds the Access Yes! program, which leases private lands for public hunting and fishing access.
